The Neumann Kaffee Gruppe since produces coffee for export on the land from which the people were evicted. The majority of the evictees have settled at the boarder of the plantation. Since the eviction, they suffer under food shortage, lack of drinking water, lack of money to pay school fees, lack access to adequate health care. They have approached the Neumann Kaffee Gruppe several times to ask for support in their struggle for compensation. But the company continuously refuses to talk with them. The company has also tried to hinder the legal case when the evictees sued the company and the Ugandan Government in 2002. Until today, the court case has not been solved and no substantial progress has been made.
