Buliisa Initiative for Rural Development Organization (BIRUDO) was founded in 2006. BIRUDO works around land rights and environmental justice issues with a vision of promoting a self-sustaining, empowered, and vibrant community living free from poverty, ignorance and disease. Our mission is to improve the livelihoods, income, and food security of local communities in the Albertine Rift region of Uganda by implementing quality and sustainable programs in the areas of education, health, environment and natural resources, and extractive industry governance.
