Allegations
On 18 May 2026, Südwind and Solidarity Center Thailand filed a complaint against private Austrian company Huber Holding AG at the Austrian NCP. The complaint alleges labour rights harms during the 2020 Covid pandemic, namely, unlawful dismissals of over 900 workers and non-payment of legally mandated wages, bonuses, and severance by Body Fashion Thailand Ltd., the owner of which is also the CEO and owner of Huber Holding. Body Fashion also manufactured garments for brands owned by Huber Holding AG, thereby forming part of its production structure and supply chain.
According to the complainants, in 2021 and 2022, the Thai government issued several rulings in response to complaints filed by workers about the unpaid compensation. In every case, the government ruled in favor of the workers and affirmed the legal obligation of the company to pay them all owed. To date, Body Fashion has not complied with these rulings and the payments remain outstanding. As of August 2025, the total outstanding amount owed to workers is estimated at approximately EUR 6.5 million, plus additional interest owed to the workers in accordance with Thai law and the court rulings.
The complainants seek the full payment of all outstanding wages, severance pay, notice pay, bonuses, and other legally mandated entitlements owed to the affected workers of Body Fashion, including accrued interest. They also call on Huber Holding to implement a remediation mechanism to ensure the funds are distributed to the affected workers, and to improve its human rights due diligence processes.
