Allegations

In July 2011, the Argentinian NCP received a request for review by the NGO Asociación Civil por la Igualdad y la Justicia alleging that the multinational enterprise BNP PARIBAS had breached the general policies and disclosure, provisions of the Guidelines in Argentina.

The NCP is undertaking an initial assessment of the specific instance. The NCP has requested the NGO to update the NCP with any further information about the present case but no additional information has been provided by the NGO to date.

Outcome

In December 2016, the Argentine NCP issued a Final Statement stating that the ANCP had failed to analyze the filing of the case in a timely manner; therefore no decision was ever made in terms of whether or not to accept the complaint.

As the ANCP is working to restructure and improve itself, the new members of the ANCP made a formal offer to ACIJ on 2 November 2016 to update its request, but had not received more information from them. Thus, the ANCP has dismissed the case.
